PREDATOR RODS

Purpose-Built Performance for Serious Predator Anglers.

The Tamer Pike range has been developed for specialist predator anglers who need dependable, purpose-built rods for serious pike fishing across banks, boats, rivers, reservoirs, lochs and smaller waters. Completely updated with new models and full cork handles throughout, the range covers everything from versatile deadbait rods and long-range big bait tools to compact boat rods, lure rods and dedicated jerk bait models. Built on slim, responsive high modulus carbon blanks with our durable Perdurable finish, each rod is designed to offer reliable casting, positive hook setting and controlled fish-playing power without unnecessary weight or complication. Practical fittings, black cradle-style guides and strong progressive actions make these rods hard-working tools for real fishing conditions. Whether presenting deadbaits at range, controlling drifter floats, working baits from a boat or casting lures all day, Tamer Pike rods deliver proven predator performance with excellent value.

This latest generation builds on the reputation of the original Tamer Pike rods, retaining the no-nonsense reliability that made them trusted tools for specialist predator anglers while updating the range for modern methods and venues. The move to full cork handles across every model gives a more traditional feel, a secure grip in cold and wet conditions, and a cleaner, more consistent family build.

At the core is high modulus carbon construction with our Perdurable blank finish, with no paint or lacquer to chip or dull. The blanks are slim, crisp and responsive in the hand, yet tough enough for long winters, big waters, powerful river flows and the hard-working life predator rods often lead.

The range has been developed around real pike fishing rather than a single generic action. The bank and big bait rods provide progressive casting power for deadbaits and long-range line control; the 10ft boat rods offer compact handling with strong lower-section authority; and the lure and jerk bait models give dedicated tools for fixed-spool lure fishing and multiplier work with bigger baits.

Codes: RPT634

For bigger deadbaits and longer casts:

Tamer Big Bait 12’ has more authority for whole mackerel, herring, jumbo smelts and heavier tackle, while retaining a progressive curve that helps protect softer-skinned baits on the cast.

Codes: RPT635

Extra reach and backbone for bigger venues:

Tamer Bank Pike 12’ 6” 4.50lb adds line pick-up, leverage and mid-to-butt power for big pits, reservoirs and rivers, especially when fishing heavy floats, larger leads or drifter floats over wide areas.

Codes: RPT636

The most powerful bank rod in the range:

Tamer Big Bait 13’ 4.50lb is the longest, most distance-focused deadbait rod in the range, built for big open waters, extreme-range work and situations where extra length helps control line and tighten quickly to takes.

Codes: RPT637

Compact boat control with extra versatility:

Tamer Boat Pike 10’ is tuned for smaller to medium deadbaits, float-ledgering, drifted baits and occasional lure or jig work, while also making an excellent zander or roving river and drain rod.

Codes: RPT638

More power for heavy boat work:

Tamer Boat Pike Heavy 10’ steps up the test curve to around 3.50lb, making it better suited to bigger baits, heavier leads, stronger flows and close-range control around boats, anchors and structure.

Codes: RPT639

The fixed-spool lure rod:

Tamer Lure Rod 9’ is light, crisp and comfortable for all-day casting, covering typical lures around 20–60g with enough reserve for slightly heavier spoons, cranks, spinnerbaits and soft lures.

Codes: RPT640

The heavy jerk bait option:

Tamer Jerk Bait 50–150g is the powerhouse of the lure line-up, designed for oversized jerk baits, big gliders and heavy rubber baits when deliberately targeting the largest predators.

Codes: RPT641

The more versatile jerk bait choice:

Tamer Jerk Bait 40–100g is ideal for mid-sized jerk baits, larger plugs and medium jigs, with a practical two-piece build that is easy to keep in the car or pack for travel.
