‘S’-Range Pike Specials blanks are built for anglers and rod builders who want a true dedicated pike blank rather than an adapted carp blank. Designed around the demands of modern pike fishing, they are made to cast big, air-resistant baits cleanly, deliver positive control at range and provide the backbone needed to handle powerful fish from both bank and boat.
The blanks use 36T Japanese low-resin carbon with a 3K weave to create a progressive action with retained authority. They load smoothly, recover cleanly and feel light for their effective power, while still giving the reserve needed for big baits and demanding venues.
Like the finished rods, the blanks use Free Spirit’s Perdurable raw-carbon finish. This avoids unnecessary paint or heavy lacquer, helping the blank keep its clean carbon appearance over time while reducing the risk of chips, crazing or dulling from hard use.
These blanks were developed specifically as pike tools. The action, recovery and power distribution are tuned for bank and boat fishing, giving progressive fish-playing control without losing the strength needed for heavy bait work, close-range pressure and large venues.

The Bank Pike blanks are the all-round casting tools in the range. They offer clean loading, confident bait control and a progressive playing action that remains enjoyable without feeling soft. The 11’ model is the most versatile bank option, while the 12’ adds extra reach and leverage for larger waters, longer casts and heavier bait work.
Boat Pike Blanks
The Boat Pike blanks are designed for the practical demands of fishing afloat. Their shorter working lengths make them easier to use in confined boat space while still giving the strength and control needed for heavy use. The 10’ model is compact and direct, while the 11’ bridges the gap between boat handling, casting and trolling baits away from an anchored boat.
