Built from the very same very low-resin 40T Japanese carbon used on the rest of the Hi-‘S’ rods, with a full 1K weave and Perdurable blank finish, these rods are extremely light and well balanced, yet strong, with very responsive tips to aid casting with light set-ups.
All Hi-‘S’ surface and stalking rods are built with the Clone 1K seat and stainless steel collars as standard, but — as with all Hi-‘S’ rods — these can be made to your individual requirement.
The Hi-‘S’ Tree Creeper 6’ 3lb is the tightest-quarters stalking rod in the range, designed for confined swims, undergrowth, boat work and close-range hit-and-hold situations where a short, powerful blank gives a genuine advantage. Compact, accurate and easy to manoeuvre, it is ideal when every movement has to be controlled, and fish need to be steered quickly away from danger.
For anglers wanting longer stalking rods, selected models from the Hi-‘S’ Compact Carp Rods section can also be built as stalking rods. These include the 10’ 2.75lb, 10’ 3.25lb, 10’ 3.50lb and 11’ 3.50lb models, giving options for everything from lighter close-range work through to more powerful stalking, snag fishing and boat use.
The Surface Creeper range is designed for delicate surface presentation with proper control. The 11’ has an effective test curve of 2¼lb, making it very suitable for free-lining. We have also sold this rod as a light river rod for roving anglers. The 12’ is 2½lb, while the LR versions are 2¾lb — strong enough to cast larger controllers but still forgiving when fighting large carp on light lines or hooklinks synonymous with floater fishing for wary carp. The 12’ and LR versions can be built with either 30mm or 40mm butt guides; the 40mm option has distance ring spacing.

Hi-‘S’ Surface Creeper 11’ is the finesse surface rod in the range, ideal for free-lining, delicate floater fishing and mobile roving work. With its forgiving top section and effective 2¼lb test curve, it offers subtle presentation while still retaining the control needed for larger carp on light lines.

Extra reach and control:
Hi-‘S’ Surface Creeper 12’ – 40mm is the choice when you want a little more reach, line control and casting ease without losing the forgiving action needed for surface fishing. At 2½lb, it is well suited to larger controllers, open-water work and careful presentation at slightly longer range.
