Tamer Cat Blanks

Tamer Rod Blanks are designed for demanding predator, catfish and overseas fishing where strength, leverage and long-term durability are essential. Built using either Japanese 36T low-resin carbon or resilient Korean Hankook carbon, they provide dependable performance for custom rods intended to handle the toughest fishing situations. The range covers serious European catfish work, heavy river fishing, exotic predator applications and big-fish venues where ordinary blanks are quickly exposed. These blanks are ideal for powerful species such as catfish, Nile perch, mahseer, Mekong catfish, Siamese carp, arapaima and other hard-fighting exotics. Strong lower sections, practical lengths and actions designed for sustained pressure give custom builders the foundation for rods that can cast heavy payloads, apply serious pressure and keep performing through hard use.

Description

BLANKS

Built for Big Fish. Engineered to Endure.

Tamer blanks are designed for anglers fishing big rivers, overseas venues and hard-working predator situations where strength, leverage and reliability matter. The Tamer ‘S’ Sport and BAD Cat blanks use 36T Japanese low-resin carbon with a 3K carbon aesthetic, while the Tamer ‘E’ Sport blank uses Korean Hankook carbon with a SEA-3K finish for a hard-wearing, dependable construction.

Across the range, the blanks are built around practical 10’ lengths, giving enough casting ability from the bank while remaining short enough for boat work and close-quarters control. This length also gives strong leverage when heavy fish are fought hard and close, without becoming unwieldy in confined swims or onboard.

The Perdurable blank finish is especially important on this type of rod. These blanks are built to be handled, transported and worked hard in harsh conditions, so avoiding paint and heavy lacquer helps reduce the risk of chipping, crazing or dulling over time. The result is a tough, purposeful blank finish that keeps the quality of the carbon visible and the rod looking right through prolonged use.

The Tamer ‘S’ blanks are designed to resist significant softening under repeated heavy loading, making them suitable for powerful catfish and exotic species where rods are worked for long periods under sustained pressure. The Tamer ‘E’ Sport blank gives a more cost-conscious but highly durable option, with a resilient blank construction selected for demanding use in hot climates, rain, constant handling and hard fights.

Tamer Blank Uses

Tamer ‘S’ Sport Blank

The Tamer ‘S’ Sport blank is rated at 100-300g and is the versatile big-fish option in the range. It has a lighter, more responsive tip than the BAD Cat, making it suitable for anglers who want cleaner loading, better bite indication and a little more sport in the blank, while still retaining the power needed for catfish and other large freshwater predators.

Cat Tamer BAD Cat ‘S’ Blank

The BAD Cat ‘S’ blank is the dedicated heavy catfish tool, rated at 150-400g. It is designed for the heaviest leads, large baits, fast water and situations where maximum control and endurance are required. This is the blank for committed big-river catfish work where pressure must be applied hard and consistently.

Tamer ‘E’ Sport Blank

The Tamer ‘E’ Sport blank is also rated at 100-300g and sits alongside the ‘S’ Sport as a durable, hard-working option. Built using Korean Hankook carbon with SEA-3K finish, it is intended for anglers who want a reliable Sport blank capable of heavy use in demanding conditions, while still offering the practical 10’ format and powerful casting range.
